Seriously, who does this........

That would be my husband of course! I mean seriously who thinks that it would be a great idea to have a profession where you regularly jump out of perfectly good airplanes for a living? Who graduates college and then thinks, Oh man it would be really fun to have a job where once or twice a month I get all rigged up with my weapon and ruck and jump out of a plane at all hours of the day/night? I mean seriously! Yep, my husband and his co-workers/friends do this on a very regular basis.

Tonight Daddy C will embark on a night, combat equipment jump, essentially he will jump out of the perfectly good airplane with all equipment it would take to go directly into a combat situation. This morning when he left for work, I told him the usual, I love you, I will pray for a soft landing and that you do not get stuck in a tree or land in a creek bed. Besides my fellow RGR wives that read this blog, who can say that is what their husband does for a living?

I mean seriously who does that?

Gunfire in the morning....

I love it...I really really do! Wait, before you think I am totally nuts I shall explain.

I love living so close to Fort Benning, do I like Columbus, NO, but a girl must make do and I do love living so close to such a huge Army installation....it makes me feel so safe!

I love passing by Red Cloud range, on the way to take Tucker to school, and seeing the Bradleys, Strikers, Abrams tanks, etc firing....it makes me feel so safe!

I love walking Tucker into school and hearing the firing from the AMU pistol range right up the road....I feel so safe!

I love walking the track next to the Ranger Memorial and hearing the gun fire from the big gun range across the street....I feel so safe!

I love walking the track next to the Ranger Memorial and looking over to the memorial knowing that those amazing Rangers gave their lives for my boys and I to feel so safe!

I love being on post and seeing all of the men and women in uniform...I feel so safe!

I still get tears in my eyes when I see the new privates, freshly graduated from BCT, walking hand in hand with their wives/fiances/girlfriends/flavor of the week it reminds me of that time 5 years ago when I walked hand in hand with my freshly graduated private husband in the same exact place.

I love looking out of my window and seeing my very own Ranger pull up in the driveway, open our front door, lay down his beret and take of his boots after a long day....I feel so safe!

Sub-par

Do you ever just feel sub-par? Like you can not meet everyone's expectations of you? I have these 2 amazing little boys that rely on me for everything, I mean how can they not, afterall they are only 3 and 3 months. Yet, I always feel that I fall short of what they are expecting of me. I have a husband whom is never able to be around due to his job. Therefore I am the sole provider for my children's needs most of the days. I never have time for myself, which I believe is very important to be a proper provider for your children. I am not asking for a day away but simply an hour would be nice...come on an hour, that is all I am asking for. However I do not get this hour that I so desperately need to rejuvinate myself and come back fully ready to take on my 2 sweet little boys again. I do not know how to get these feeling of inadequacy to go away. I know my boys are well taken care of and happy little dudes at that, but I have to give everything I have everyday to make sure that they feel that way. I just do not see how me being so run down is going to be good for these two little guys in the end!

I need to find a way to get to a happy medium in all of this. I am trying but feel I keep on hitting walls. I am tired, I am grumpy, I am angry at the husband, I want to cry, but I can't because my 3 year old sits on my lap and I would not want to upset him!

So here I sit....feeling...sub-par!

Easter Weekend Fun!!!

The Easter weekend here in the Gleaton household was busy busy busy and fun fun fun! We started the weekend with a little Easter egg hunt in the front yard. You can see T had a super fun time gathering all of the eggs, but he has had even a better time eating all of the candy. Oh yeah and not to mention that Daddy C and I have had to re-hide said eggs about 5 times.

Sweet, little Miss L came to the egg hunt also. Her parents are great friends of ours and have been since college. I am glad that we are back in the same town so the kids can grow up together!

After the fun egg hunt we were brave enough to allow a 2 and a 3 year old dye eggs, hence the reason we allowed them to do it outside! It was fun for all involved and took a whole day to get the dye off of the little ones fingers!

And as all of this excitement was going on my sweet little baby C was sitting on his Pop-pop's lab, when I looked over I saw the evidence! My 3 month old had been consuming chocolate...but he looked as though he loved it!

After T was done dying eggs he apparantley took it upon himself to decorate his brother with the stickers he found in some of his eggs. Hmmmmm at least they are not on the walls.

Look at what the Easter Bunny brought! Here is Baby C with his Easter loot!

T was not thrilled with the camera this early in the morning, so this is the best it got!

All cleaned up and ready for Easter service at church and boy did I need that service. Some things have been going on with my oldest youngest brother that have really shaken me to the core lately....lets just say alot of tough love has been needed these past few week and I am hoping he gets the help he needs, but not at my expense (emotionally or monetarily) any more. The service was amazing and the pastor reminded me that Jesus's life was given so our sins are forgiven also we can turn all of our burden and hurt over to him and he will bring us through it. I really needed that message!!!!

And the grand-parents were here as well! That is always fun...eventhough the boys are super spoiled when they are here!

I hope that everyone's Easter was as great as ours. Family time is such amazing time, I can not get enough of the three men in my life. They bring me such joy and I can not stop smiling when I am around them!!!!! Off to snuggle with the number 1 man in my life Daddy C!
